The Holidays from the holidays...

i guess the 26th to the 30th of December can be considered to be the holidays from the holidays... where one takes a break from the various festivities and recover from the snacking and alcohol overdose. This Christmas has been a somewhat unique experience for me as I experienced a different type of celebration altogether at my friends' place... Thanks Dom and Isaac...

Work has been rather uneventful as most of the staff are clearing their annual leaves or calling in sick (what's new) so the office is pretty much empty.... which isn't exactly a bad thing till you realise that they are out there having fun while you are wasting time in the office... haha... oh well... all of us have to start somewhere.

Interesting thing to note about blogs is that only those graphical ones tend to be better received... hmm perhaps I should do something about it haha... So here's to great times with good friends in the splendid new year!!!

Dom and Isaac... cheers!!

Thoughts form work.

The human brain is perhaps the single most complex biological tool to ever exist on this planet. Human civilisation itself is a testament to the ingenuity and sheer might of this 3Lbs piece of muscle and tissue. However, when I take a closer look at my surroundings and study in detail some of the owners of these marevellous machines, I cannot help but wonder have we taken a step back in the evolutionary path.
I am currently doing an internship in one of the most influtiential companies for the last 4 to 5 decades. The people I meet here are simply amazing... extremely focused and dedicated at the same time. Anyway... I have only been here a week now and it's still to early for me to comment on anything.
Christmas and the New Year are just around the corner and I guess with it comes the parties and alcohol. To all my friends out there, thank you for making 2007 and incredible year for me. Happy Holidays and best wishes to all!!!!

Food for thoughts...

I must admit that I have learnt a lot from the past week. Firstly I must mention, with a huge sigh of relief, that I have finally submitted all my US apps, finished up with my SAT 2 papers and ran my marathon. I've reconnected with numerous old friends and i must admit I do kinda miss the times I've had with them.
I'll be heading to Bangkok next week to do some shopping for the new year. Other than that.... hmmm... I am having a very good time... haha... and for all those out there that blog... u'll be surprised how many people read the blog without commenting.... haha just be careful of what u put on it... haha.... cheers!

Reflections

Its amazing how time flies when you're not looking. I've decided to give myself a new direction in life. Its been a while since I have done anything seriously and focused hard on any one aspect of my life but I am glad I am pulling it together. Things are starting to get really busy as I start a new chapter in my life. I've started a lot of stuff but have never seemed to see any through to completion. That is going to change. As my NS chapter drew to a close three weeks back, I made up my mine to live my life differently. The fun is over and the work begins. "Hunger, how much do you want it" a quote taken from a friend's msn nick very adptly describes the way I will be feeling about things now.
Anyway if you do read this blog which I hope you do... You've been the best thing that has happened to me as of late. I truly appreciate your company and love every single momment spent with you. Thanks for sticking by me and tolerting all my nonsense.
This week is a sad week for many. The 5 dragonboaters who perished last friday, may you all rest in peace. To the friends and family members out there, my condolences. It is pretty obvious that these 5 gentlemen have lived their lives to the fullest and pursued passionately what they loved doing best, be it blading, chilling out with friends, making music and nontheless dragonboating. How many of us can honestly say we have lived our lives to that same level of fufilment? I can't and that is going to change. Every sunrise should not be taken for granted in this unpredictable journey of life. Live without regrets. That is what I will be doing from now on.

Thoughts

There's a lot of things going through my mine lately, and it really has been affecting my mood. I am pretty upset about the way my life has been going by and am in the process of overhauling it. To those who I have upset along the way, I apologized. Do bear with me.

Excellent Session

Yesterday was great. Just take things slowly be patient. As you said, good things come for those who wait and I believe they will for you. :)
And for you, I really enjoy the times spent together chatting and talking about stuff. Do give some thought to the home movie and takeaway food yar?
Be happy!!!!!

Finally....

Last post was a while back so here's some updates... I've finally ORDed!!!!! The last 1 year 10 months has been exceedingly filled with ups and downs and was a definite learning experience for me. From my days on Tekong under "O" coy through the infamous "Charlie" in SISPEC and the 85th BFSC under "Monkey GOD" till my final posting as a PTI in Hendon, I've learnt continuously about the importance of working with others and more importantly my own strengths and weaknesses. I thank all those who have guided me and taught me during this short and memorable stint with the armed forces and I hope that ording isn't the end of what I believe to be a great friendship that I have forged with many out there.
I haven't been up to much lately, mostly slacking around and enjoying, not so much the free time (I've had plenty of that in camp) but more the liberation that comes with me leaving the force. For the last year and ten months, my life has been largely dependent on the camp's PT routine and to finally have it back... it is a pretty exhilrating feeling though it can be somewhat intimading. I've got approximately 8 months till the next phrase of my life begins and I trully hope these next few months will be fruitful for me.
ANYWAY... After leaving the army I did spend the last week of freedom doing pretty cool stuff.... info and pics right below!!! :)

85th BFSC Gathering

14 of us met for an extremely satisfying lunch and movie outing at Miramar hotel and Great World City respectively. ITs been a while since we last me and 14 out of 25 is pretty good for a group gathering. The dim sum lunch was really satisfying and we def bit more than we could chew... lol.... IT was great meeting you guys.. if anyone does read this... thanks for the great times we've had and hope to have more of these outings.....

For your info, we cleared approxiametly 5 times this amount of bamboo baskets and about 5 plates of dishes from the table "burps!!"

Couldn't resist it... long line of tickets, good camera phone and me..... lol why not a photo for the blog?

Lunch with good company makes good conversation and an excellent time.

KS really couldn't be botheres with what HP had to say... LOL

Lunch ended about 2.30pm and the whole lot lest HP and WX trotted over to Great World City to watch Gameplan, which so happens to be a really dumbarse show. But with great comany (as mentioned above... lol) yeah the movie turned out pretty fun... LOL till next time!!!

Launch of Mimolette

My sis and I attended the launch of Mimolette bar and gril cum chill out area courtesy of BL who so kindly invited us to the event. The place was pretty well done up and the interior really classy. (God I ain't good with describing chic places) The event was pretty well organized and the crowd really... er how do i put it... glam and tall... Alcohol was free flow which is as usual, a good thing... and the displays were pretty interesting... I'll just show the pics yar?

Name of the really chic place

Follow direction on signs.

Parting Shorts

Most of the shots didn't turn out well so these will have to suffice for now... lol anyway it is a really cool place and I had an excellent time there....

RIght.....

Ok i am back... Sorry for the neglect... just been really caught up with the administrative side of my life. The past week's been pretty eventful; both cheery and devastating at the same time.

Before I blog any further... just wanna send my condolences to the family of 2nd Sgt Lim Chee Wee. Though I only met him once at one of the unit's outing, i must add that based on what others have mentioned about him, his cheerfulness and willingness to help, he will be deeply missed. Rest in peace.

Went food hunting on Sunday after my swim lessons with Charles and Aaron. Had Mango Ice Cream cum Kachang at PS before heading down to Chinatown for some excellent dim sum. A lot transpired during the meals as information exchanged hands and data "downloaded" and "uploaded accordingly".... :)

Dance classes are coming along pretty well i must add and i am so so loving them... Overdrive party at the esplanade certainly fueled my passion for hip-hop too....

Tuesday was halloween shopping day and i think i've got a pretty good idea if what i am going to don for this coming weekend...

What a Blast!!

The last weekend has been especially enjoyable for me as I spent all of it with great company. Great company is defined when despite doing the most mundane of tasks such as people watching or soaking in a pool, U're still having a whale of a time. And that's what I have been doing the whole weekend.

Saturday was sorta half burnt due to the late night activites on Friday :) I woke up at about 10am in the morning before proceeding to run some errands for my mum. The rest of the day was spent lazing around at home, reading and catching up with missed TV serials. I ended the day with an excursion to town to try out for the job at NUM. Interesting interview concept... Oh well all the best to me for that.

Sunday started of at 6 am with me as Jia Jie and i proceeded for a 83.4-83.7km bike ride around Singapore. Yes Yes the both of us are nuts but who cares. I started of at Temasek Polytechnic headed to Parkway Parade via Bedok Resv Road and Marine Parade Road. There I met up with JJ before we cycled towards Town. We went Past Kallang stadium through Beach Road pass the Esplanade and Raffles City Shopping centre, through SMU then down behind the old phoenix hotel. Made a right turn at Wheelock Place before by passing Far East Plaza into Bukit Upper Timah. From there we cycled upwards towards Newton Circus before turning towards Balmoral Road past ACS Barker. We cycled straight all the way Past Hwa Chong till we reached Beauty World. From there we turned at cycled staight past the Old Ford Factory till we hit Chua Chu Kang. I'll cut the story short here. We headed past CCK and through Clementi till we reached ALexander Road. From there we headed towards Pasir Panjang then past Vivocity into Keppel road. We took a pit stop at Far East Plaza before cycling back east via Nicoll highway into Mountbatten Road. JJ left me at Kembagan MRT station before i cycled back through Bedok home... Phew... :) Do call me out for a bike ride soon k?

After a short rest at home, i changed out and made my way towards Sentosa for a fun day out at the beach. After a bowl of Fish soup and some dumplings from Food republic i met up with charles and then headed to Tanjong beach.

KM8 is an amazing place and the atmosphere is splendid. Beautiful people (most of them :) ) excellent senery and the smoothest of remixes by the DJ there, a chris ho i think, made for the perfect getaway/chillout area. Charles introduced me to some pretty amazing people there... Terence, Edmund, Jason, Shyad and a couple others. We chatted... ate fruits... people gazed... soaked in the sun and music and had a great time!!! Do upload the pics soon yar!!!

Charles and I left at about 6.05pm to meet up with Dominic and Aaron... After a quick Dinner we proceeded to pick up the queen before heading to Ray's for games night!! WW and UM drawed... I backstabbed the queen and became an agent of UM... Sorry UR majesty... its only for a night... I'll strip the suit and wear back the armbands next week :)

Ray got me a beautiful hat from France and a morning after rescure spray.. for in case u-know-what-happens the night before during a wild night out haha... THANKS RAY!!!!!! I did have some drinks at Ray's place and by the time i got to St james I was pretty tired but nevertheless it was extremely fun!!!

I am a very sociable person but the one thing u must understand is that i don't open up easily. I seldom make the first step. So do forgive me for that. I am very frank cause I hate misunderstandings and I don't fall easily. I'd love to get to know u better but I don't wanna commit yet. If nothing comes out of it... can we still be friends? :)

Damn cool Graffiti at a Shophouse in Kembagan!!

Dom and I... excellent company at clubs... hugs!!

Thanks Charles it does look better !!! woot

I think they are more pics but i haven't got them yet... lol will update yar!!!

Friday Night Fever

Its been a while since I clubbed on a Friday but I've got to admit last night went pretty well...
Last night marked the first anniversary of the launch of AUGUST magazine. The first Anniversary party had a black coloured theme and everyone there... or almost everyone there.. was decked out in their most elegent. The Four of us, Charles, Yangfei Aaron and I arrived at about 20 past 10 and after a reg, we proceeded in. The Area was devided into two parts, one the dancefloor and stages, the other a showcase of stuff which I can never afford for the next 5 years at least. There were 2 main shows that were staged, the first of which was a Fire Swinging cum robotic dance show and the other an Indian Drum performance. Pretty interesting, seriously. The indian guy was damn bloody good!! We headed to the usual haunt after that where we watched Dom strut his stuff at a show... lol... Anyway congrats to edison for his excellent performance last night!!! yeah...
The next most eventful item on the agenda was the discovery of the potency of Champagne and Wine... lol... what a glorious disaster.... haha..
After it was all over I had a really nice supper (or early breakfast??) with Isaac and we just bitched and talked about stuff... Its these little things that make me appreciative of the good company and loving friends that I have around.... alright pics Galore!!!

What a Blast...

I must say that I've had a pretty fun filled weekend this week. After an amazing 5 days of lazing around at home doing nothing but surfing the History channel and setting up my blog, playing with the dog and washing dishes, the weekend came as a much needed refresher for me.
Sat started off with a nice splendid dinner with some close friends before the group split up... with the rest headed for some other function. C and I proceeded to meet his old friend for more chow before heading to a friends party... ok now to the main storey...
Arrived at M at about 15min past ten. chilled out with old friends there and cuaght up with new ones before headed down to "lalaland". My my the fun we had... got pretty damn high and was dnacing everywhere haha...
Sunday for me started off in the afternoon due to the late night/early morning activity for me earlier. Went to busy myself form 2-6 before meeting friends for dinner and coffee. Again, it was excellent company and we had a great time bitching about everything. (Thanks For the Gift yar... love it!!!)
took a train home and proceeded to watch Constantine with mum... lol had to give her a full time narration of what was going on... lol...
Ok its kinda late so i'll def brush up on the blog entry soon... zzzzz

Thoughts...

Day 6 of my recovery from the damn operation. My mouth isn't very swollen now so perhaps i could start adventuring out of the house. I was just browsing through the facebooks of my former schoolmates. Most have started their paths as budding politicians or doctors and are embarking on the journey of their lifetimes.
I am going to leave the army soon and contrary to popular belief, it ain't all joy and laughter. I am not sure about the rest out there, but my NS term served as a break for me. I honestly still have not planned out the next chapter in my life yet and I dread thinking about it. Argh... oh well... time i start getting on with it...

Couch Potato

I've got to admit... this has got to be the longest time in 2 years that i 've gone without any form of physical activity. The swelling's went down enormously and i am definetly feeling much better. I kinda realised that toying around with Facebook, Friendster, my new Blog and playing Rome: Total War at the same time has become extremely enjoyable and addictive... god I really dread the end of this bittersweet Honeymoon.

I do notice that many individuals out there do post articles of an extremely engaging level. Hope in the times to come, I'll be able to do the same.

Just when things are all coming together, its time to close this chapter and start the next... Change... well i guess life would be pretty mundane without it. I added some pics below... totally random but... very much me... i'll add more as I continue blogging.

Phew..

Alright these few days expect non-stop blogging around the clock from me... i am slowly trying to figure out how to work the blogger site out... just successfully added the slideshow thingy to the top of the page... will try and firgure out how to customize the backdrop...

My First Entry...

I am not sure what people out there log in their first entry but i must say that there is definely something extremely satisfying about it... This is my first attempt at blogging and I hope that it doesn't turn out too bad. Do forgive me for the extremely simple set up and templates used here, I'll definely work on it as i progress.
I just had my wisdom tooth operation on Monday, hence my 8 days medical leave and hence the vast amount of time i have on my hands to finally go abouts setting up my blog (and facebook!!) The swelling has subsided a bit and i am definely feeling much better now. Can't wait for the full recovery so i can continue doing the stuff i like before this honeymoon ends...
