Today didn't exactly start the way I had envisioned it to start. I had (note the tense) a morning lesson which was supposed to start at 8 a.m. but I guess waking up at 9.30 a.m. for a lecture that ends at 10 doesn't really help. Lunch was next on the agenda, as I headed with JJ for a quick bite at the FASS canteen. Food was boring, so was the location but at least the company was good :) I headed to the library to do some quiet reading before proceeding for my subsequent lecture at 2 p.m. , only to realize that this weeks lecture was cancelled and that official classes were to start the following week. I spent the rest of the afternoon tidying up my room and browsing through the upcoming work and lecture notes. 2 years of national service, 8 months of idle, 6 months of social science and humanities followed by a month of training does little to help with the current predicament I am in; 1 mathematics module and 3 economics modules. Oh well, guess I'll just have to figure it out along the way.
Biathlon training was pretty intense today but it sure as hell made today worthwhile. The sets were tough but essential, kudos to ZY for writing it (She doesn't really realize that I curse her upon hearing the sets as much as she curses herself when she writes the sets...). Short term pain for long term gains... thats the thought to keep in mind when suffering in the middle of an interval training.
Nicolas, JJ, Jon and I made a quick and rather spontaneous decision to chow at "Botak Jones" since YIH was closed and the subway queue ridiculously long. It was a simple meal but the company made the whole dining experience blissful. Island Creamery was another last minute addition to the list (thanks to JJ) and hence that was how a single scoop of burnt caramel and Nutella became the last two items consumed before the end of the 13th of January.
A simple yet thoroughly enjoyable day. To be frank, there won't be much memories made during my stay in university here. Blame it on the environment or blame it on my arrogant, obnoxious, can't-be-bothered-about-the-small-stuff-in-life attitude, I don't really give a damn, cause one doesn't need a lot to succeed in life. A tinge of bravado, self confidence, determination and close friends are the essential ingredients for success. I don't know about the first three items but I am glad to know that the last and most important ingredient has already been found. :)
