i guess the 26th to the 30th of December can be considered to be the holidays from the holidays... where one takes a break from the various festivities and recover from the snacking and alcohol overdose. This Christmas has been a somewhat unique experience for me as I experienced a different type of celebration altogether at my friends' place... Thanks Dom and Isaac...
Work has been rather uneventful as most of the staff are clearing their annual leaves or calling in sick (what's new) so the office is pretty much empty.... which isn't exactly a bad thing till you realise that they are out there having fun while you are wasting time in the office... haha... oh well... all of us have to start somewhere.
Interesting thing to note about blogs is that only those graphical ones tend to be better received... hmm perhaps I should do something about it haha... So here's to great times with good friends in the splendid new year!!!
Dom and Isaac... cheers!!

The Holidays from the holidays...

Thoughts form work.
The human brain is perhaps the single most complex biological tool to ever exist on this planet. Human civilisation itself is a testament to the ingenuity and sheer might of this 3Lbs piece of muscle and tissue. However, when I take a closer look at my surroundings and study in detail some of the owners of these marevellous machines, I cannot help but wonder have we taken a step back in the evolutionary path.
I am currently doing an internship in one of the most influtiential companies for the last 4 to 5 decades. The people I meet here are simply amazing... extremely focused and dedicated at the same time. Anyway... I have only been here a week now and it's still to early for me to comment on anything.
Christmas and the New Year are just around the corner and I guess with it comes the parties and alcohol. To all my friends out there, thank you for making 2007 and incredible year for me. Happy Holidays and best wishes to all!!!!

Food for thoughts...
I must admit that I have learnt a lot from the past week. Firstly I must mention, with a huge sigh of relief, that I have finally submitted all my US apps, finished up with my SAT 2 papers and ran my marathon. I've reconnected with numerous old friends and i must admit I do kinda miss the times I've had with them.
I'll be heading to Bangkok next week to do some shopping for the new year. Other than that.... hmmm... I am having a very good time... haha... and for all those out there that blog... u'll be surprised how many people read the blog without commenting.... haha just be careful of what u put on it... haha.... cheers!

Reflections
Its amazing how time flies when you're not looking. I've decided to give myself a new direction in life. Its been a while since I have done anything seriously and focused hard on any one aspect of my life but I am glad I am pulling it together. Things are starting to get really busy as I start a new chapter in my life. I've started a lot of stuff but have never seemed to see any through to completion. That is going to change. As my NS chapter drew to a close three weeks back, I made up my mine to live my life differently. The fun is over and the work begins. "Hunger, how much do you want it" a quote taken from a friend's msn nick very adptly describes the way I will be feeling about things now.
Anyway if you do read this blog which I hope you do... You've been the best thing that has happened to me as of late. I truly appreciate your company and love every single momment spent with you. Thanks for sticking by me and tolerting all my nonsense.
This week is a sad week for many. The 5 dragonboaters who perished last friday, may you all rest in peace. To the friends and family members out there, my condolences. It is pretty obvious that these 5 gentlemen have lived their lives to the fullest and pursued passionately what they loved doing best, be it blading, chilling out with friends, making music and nontheless dragonboating. How many of us can honestly say we have lived our lives to that same level of fufilment? I can't and that is going to change. Every sunrise should not be taken for granted in this unpredictable journey of life. Live without regrets. That is what I will be doing from now on.

Thoughts
There's a lot of things going through my mine lately, and it really has been affecting my mood. I am pretty upset about the way my life has been going by and am in the process of overhauling it. To those who I have upset along the way, I apologized. Do bear with me.

Finally....
Last post was a while back so here's some updates... I've finally ORDed!!!!! The last 1 year 10 months has been exceedingly filled with ups and downs and was a definite learning experience for me. From my days on Tekong under "O" coy through the infamous "Charlie" in SISPEC and the 85th BFSC under "Monkey GOD" till my final posting as a PTI in Hendon, I've learnt continuously about the importance of working with others and more importantly my own strengths and weaknesses. I thank all those who have guided me and taught me during this short and memorable stint with the armed forces and I hope that ording isn't the end of what I believe to be a great friendship that I have forged with many out there.
I haven't been up to much lately, mostly slacking around and enjoying, not so much the free time (I've had plenty of that in camp) but more the liberation that comes with me leaving the force. For the last year and ten months, my life has been largely dependent on the camp's PT routine and to finally have it back... it is a pretty exhilrating feeling though it can be somewhat intimading. I've got approximately 8 months till the next phrase of my life begins and I trully hope these next few months will be fruitful for me.
ANYWAY... After leaving the army I did spend the last week of freedom doing pretty cool stuff.... info and pics right below!!! :)
85th BFSC Gathering
14 of us met for an extremely satisfying lunch and movie outing at Miramar hotel and Great World City respectively. ITs been a while since we last me and 14 out of 25 is pretty good for a group gathering. The dim sum lunch was really satisfying and we def bit more than we could chew... lol.... IT was great meeting you guys.. if anyone does read this... thanks for the great times we've had and hope to have more of these outings.....
For your info, we cleared approxiametly 5 times this amount of bamboo baskets and about 5 plates of dishes from the table "burps!!"
Couldn't resist it... long line of tickets, good camera phone and me..... lol why not a photo for the blog?
Lunch with good company makes good conversation and an excellent time.
KS really couldn't be botheres with what HP had to say... LOL
Lunch ended about 2.30pm and the whole lot lest HP and WX trotted over to Great World City to watch Gameplan, which so happens to be a really dumbarse show. But with great comany (as mentioned above... lol) yeah the movie turned out pretty fun... LOL till next time!!!
Launch of Mimolette
My sis and I attended the launch of Mimolette bar and gril cum chill out area courtesy of BL who so kindly invited us to the event. The place was pretty well done up and the interior really classy. (God I ain't good with describing chic places) The event was pretty well organized and the crowd really... er how do i put it... glam and tall... Alcohol was free flow which is as usual, a good thing... and the displays were pretty interesting... I'll just show the pics yar?
Name of the really chic place
Follow direction on signs.
Most of the shots didn't turn out well so these will have to suffice for now... lol anyway it is a really cool place and I had an excellent time there....

RIght.....
Ok i am back... Sorry for the neglect... just been really caught up with the administrative side of my life. The past week's been pretty eventful; both cheery and devastating at the same time.
Before I blog any further... just wanna send my condolences to the family of 2nd Sgt Lim Chee Wee. Though I only met him once at one of the unit's outing, i must add that based on what others have mentioned about him, his cheerfulness and willingness to help, he will be deeply missed. Rest in peace.
Went food hunting on Sunday after my swim lessons with Charles and Aaron. Had Mango Ice Cream cum Kachang at PS before heading down to Chinatown for some excellent dim sum. A lot transpired during the meals as information exchanged hands and data "downloaded" and "uploaded accordingly".... :)
Dance classes are coming along pretty well i must add and i am so so loving them... Overdrive party at the esplanade certainly fueled my passion for hip-hop too....
Tuesday was halloween shopping day and i think i've got a pretty good idea if what i am going to don for this coming weekend...
